San Pedro Students

We are really happy to report the graduation of a hard-working University student from San Pedro. Lolita studied on weekends at Rafael Landivar University in Xela for six years in order to graduate this November with a degree in Social work.  An exciting and important career for her and for the people in the highlands of Guatemala lies ahead.

There are four more students from San Pedro studying at university. They are enrolled in the faculties of social work, social justice, and business administration. All study only on weekends while working in San Pedro to help support themselves and their families.

Chaquijya Senior and Junior High Schools 

In 2024 there have been approximately 60 students enrolled in these two schools, 20 in each grade. In December, 17 students graduated from the senior high. They have benefitted from a well-supplied school, with very qualified teachers, helped by ICO.  They have had sports teams, a musical band program, computer studies, and an interesting and demanding curriculum and have done very well in the country-wide exams. We congratulate them!
