Community-Engaged Learning
ICO and our Guinea initiative have partnered with Camosun College’s Marketing Project Management class. The class hosted an event to showcase the work taking place in Guinea, along with Mali, Nigeria, and Nepal.
Keremesse
Leading up to the Ramadan Break at the end of this week, the school hosted the second annual football tournament between the classes of our community school. Students were divided into girls and boys teams for each grade, and there was fierce competition.
The community gathered the next day to have fun at the fun fair or kermesse. Representatives from each grade bravely showed off their impressive French skills and answered trivia questions, speaking clearly into a microphone for the big crowd.
Kids in grade 6 in Canada might like to know that the kids in Guinea are studying the same things: geography and the digestive system! The party also included a talent show.
