Guinea Matoto Community School Update – March 2025

Leading up to Ramadan, drum and dance students from across Europe travelled for an intensive led by renowned dance teacher Bouba “Bobzi Record” Sylla. The guests were met by a parade that led from the school to the cultural centre that L’association pirouette is building. This centre is set to open officially in February 2026 and will provide a facility for guests from around the world to study in Kobian!

The parade kicked off the annual school carnival, or keremesse which included a talent show and soccer match.

The Sylla family reunited to celebrate the wedding of school director, Ms. Anne Marie Gigla Sylla. The family and guests featured some incredible Guinean fashions. Here’s our field lead, Mr. Aly Badara Sylla, with Anne Marie, his youngest sister.
