Tanzania: Nyamuhunga Earthquake Relief – December 2024

During late 2024 the second house in Nyamuhunga village was completed. Anicia’s family was chosen by villagers to be the beneficiary because her husband has no use of his legs due to injuries sustained during the 2016 earthquake, and they and their 2 children have been living in a mud-wattle home with dirt floor since that time.

Funding from Google has ended due to my contact leaving the organization, so he can no longer champion the project. The block-making equipment will be used at the Kagondo trade school (operated by the Kolping Society of Tanzania – the organization implementing the housing project) to include HICSEB manufacture and construction in the school’s masonry course.

When funds for future houses become available, the construction project will continue.
