Nepal Irrigation Project Update – November 2024

ICO members from Canada recently returned to the village of Lahachowk to meet with ICO field lead Navin Adhikari and the local villagers. The purpose of their visit was to assess the efficiency of the ongoing irrigation project. During their visit, ICO members walked and measured the entire length of the irrigation system and checked for any signs of wear and tear.

Currently, the irrigation system spans over 3 kilometers and remains in excellent condition. It continues to operate efficiently, contributing to another successful rice crop this year. As rice is a staple in almost every meal, a good harvest is crucial for the community. This project continues to provide significant benefits to the local people, ensuring a stable and reliable food source.
