We’re amazed, encouraged and thankful to see that we’re now $1,050 dollars closer to having the funds required to purchase a solar-powered water pump for a school in Umuode village. We’re also keen to see the project through, aware that in a school that’s trying to grow to meet the demand, they still run a noisy and inefficient diesel pump to pump water for over 700 students.

From January to March, we had the privilege of working with Aiden, Laura and Maxie from Camosun College, who met with us on an almost weekly basis and assisted with putting together some promotional materials including the Solar Smart Nigeria FaceBook page! Their involvement culminated in an event highlighting a number of different ICO initiatives at the Interurban campus in March.

As we head into the summer months, we’re keen to start putting some of the Camosun team’s work to good use and being able to see this initiative through to completion soon.
